For the 6th grade Renaissance project I’m in a group with Taelon and Brianna and our topic is merchants/trade.  One of the things I learned is that there were a lot of jobs like locksmith, bookbinder and spy.  One of the skills I’m developing is how to evaluate websites and how to plan what we will do in the period that is given to us to finish the project.  One of the websites that has helped us out a lot is not actually a website, but a document that explains jobs from the renaissance.  To evaluate a website you have to Glean all you can from the URLs of each page.  Then choose pages most likely to be reliable and authentic.  Look for links that say “About us,” “Philosophy,” “Background,” “Biography”, etc.   Then delete the URL back word-by-word look at the publisher of the page (first part of the URL).  I think our project is going well so far and we’re on schedule
