I loved the trip to Biogen Idec, it was very fun. I loved staying there and working there and I thought it was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot from it. The expirement we worked on was to find if a patient of cancer could take a certain drug to help with the cancer. The cancer patient could not have a disorder in the DNA or else he/she could not take the drug. We had to find out if the patient could take the drug by taking some DNA (which for us was not human, but bacteria) and mixed it with other chemicals, put it in a box of gell and heated it. Then under a super violent light we could see the DNA and if the DNA was deformed. Unfortunately at the end of the expirement mine did not turn up. It was really cool to do the expirement and I hope I could do something like it again someday. I dont think that I would want to become a scientist on those sorts of things, but it would be cool and fun to do. I also really liked the arceticture of the building, I thought it was very cool to have all of the stuff like a gym and a beach volleyball court. I wonder how long it takes to get a drug approved by the goverment.
